PT Classics specialises in the restoration and servicing of Classic and Vintage Cars.

We are an independent, family run and owned business based in Maldon, Essex.

At PT Classics we offer a one-stop shop for all aspects of maintenance and repair for your classic or vintage car with a truly bespoke service. We have particular expertise in the restoration of classic Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Austin Healey, Aston Martin and Mercedes cars, but we love to work on cars from any marque.

As a family raised on fumes and fuel, we are a superb team who all share the same passion for the restoration process and giving new life to sometimes worn out – but deserving classics.

Pat Twinley established PT Classics in 2010 and looks after the day-to-day running of the business. Pat has a renowned reputation in the classic car restoration and motorsport industry with a wealth of experience ranging from aero engineering, pre-war engine rebuilds and achieving Le Mans podium finishes and historic race victories. Pat also has an extensive network across the restoration industry, which enables us to deliver our customers with the best knowledge, support and advice and to carry out a full specialist package, all under one roof.

We endeavour to provide a professional restoration service, but we also cater for enthusiasts, first-time buyers and people who just want some friendly advice.

ABOUT PAT

Pat’s love for cars began when he was just a child and he has had his hands covered in grease since the age of 11, working with his father and brothers on cars including: the Austin A95, the Austin Cambridge, the Austin A40, and motorcycles, BSA and Norton Triumphs. At 14, Pat was lucky enough to be working on cars such as: Jaguar MKIIs, Jaguar E-Types and Ford Anglias at his local garage, and from there came a huge passion for cars. An apprenticeship followed, whilst at weekends Pat provided race prep support to vehicles in motorsport.

Pat has also been a key figure in motorsport as a Team Manager and Technical Director for the Binnie Motorsports and Greaves Motorsport teams, winning European Le Mans titles and American Le Mans titles over a six-year period. He began his Motorsport career at JD Classics in 2000 and built up the team there, winning the British Empire Trophy at Silverstone Group C race as well as many other titles. He has also supported many other major historic race teams as Race Engineer or Crew Chief for Maserati, Ferrari, Jaguar and Formula One cars, Ferrari, Tyrrell and Lotus.

Pat has been a Master Engine Builder for over 20 years and helped develop the UK-based Antique Aero, Engine Company, which build Rolls Royce Merlin and Griffon engines for use in historic aircraft and he prides himself on pre-war engine building. Pat spent five years living in the US looking after a major classic and vintage car collection with 25 cars in the collection ranging from Bugattis, Ferraris, WO Bentleys and Alfa Romeos, all of which had to be road and race ready. On his return to the UK he founded PT Classics and has since built up a great workshop and has been blessed enough to restore some of the most rare and beautiful automotives in the world.
