Car has some vague motorsport history. It had been fitted with 3.8 Mk 10 engine, roll cage and Watts Linkage. Car went through three further owners, each using the car but carrying out rolling restoration while still on the road. This would be a fantastic car for Le Jog or Heroes rallies. When the current owner purchased the car in 1999, he decided to undertake a full body off restoration. The chassis was rebuilt back to original spec. but modified to take XK 150 steering rack, converted to right hand drive, reconditioned 3.8 short block was purchased and the straight port head was rebuilt with the 3 HD8 carburettors, rebuilt XK 140 radiator was installed along with a new 5-speed gearbox conversion from Guy Broad. The body work had been modified in the USA to run the 3 carburettors and the bonnet has had louvers installed. The restoration has seen a modified uprated pedal box installed with XK 150 front disk brakes and Mk 9 uprights with servo operation. The vehicle runs alternator and electric cooling fan with electronic ignition. The vehicle has age related registration. The interior has all been restored with C-Type bucket seats in suede green. All the wood was restored and looks beautiful. The body work has some minor blemishes and small amount of micro blistering, but overall car looks magnificent.
Vehicle will be sold with new MOT.
